Checking in on folks playing 24 days

Getting close to the end of mine (Newbie Farm small equipment). Should turn in a small profit.
  3. Hows your play going. What maps have you selected. I wrapped up my 24 day play on churn in late Jan going nearly 2 full years.

Sounds like you got a good plan.............and just have fun!
  6. Hi all, Just joined the forum and I have decided to give it a go. I have chosen Churn Village at 1X speed, mud mod turned off and Buy bales mod and Manure mod. I have sold all of the existing equipment and gone with John Deere equipment buying what I need as I go, I have no animals at the moment but will buy them later at the best price possible. I will not use Courseplay or hire workers as I will be doing all of the work myself at a slow pace, I will be using the 7R and 9R JD Tractors for the large Hilly fields but use the older equipment for the standard ones with average plowes ect. I have started day 1 and invested in Manure Placeable so I can spread it on the fields and I have purchased a few more fields around the main farm. Day 1 consisted of selling all equipment getting the AR spreader and the JD7R with forks and bucket to match and started to fertilize the fields I had to wait for a small sprinkle of snow and rain for day 1 morning time but used that time to get everything to the store by 10.00am all that was done and the rain ect had stopped so got to work. Eugene.

Why play 24 day seasons. Are you crazy?

That's the best part of this not a challenge. play at your own pace and you can start when ever.

It's a great challenge and I am enjoying it even though I am lagging way behind the others

Realismus are very happy to have feedback. I have found them to be one of the more approachable teams.

@Duckzorly, if your dead serious then I would suggest joining the seasons slack discussion group. If that's the correct term to give a slack area. They are very responsive to questions and ideas. I think a 90 day season at 1X so you could play real time like @bipolarprophet I sure as double hockey sticks would not do that but hey if your insane in the membrane go ahead.

I too agree - and in general I did the same thing in selling everything off and purchasing new gear.... however I did also give myself a loan of 2 million on top for setting up. The only time other than setup that money was 'modded' was when we swapped out to the 'Duckzorly' edition equipment - i.e. the K100's, Duckzorly Big M, and the LE Duckzorly Xerion and Trisix. However, I am confident that you could definitely play 24 day without money cheating. Now - I am not sure I could do it on Broad Acres though! as you need 30 truck/trailers and 50 combines! lol Speaking of which, anyone know how I can create a 50 day season at 1x speed? Going to need it!

I agree I haven't cheated money. Mind you I did sell everything and brought the cheaper Massey equipment. If you are careful and only have what you need it's very doable but if you must have a tractor for every piece of equipment then it's harder.

Why play 24 day seasons. Are you crazy?

Near the end of my first year and I didn't go broke playing it in carrier style play. Basically started with the equipment that was default in the game and sold off stuff that was not needed to earn money to operate on and buy up animals. In the right situations you can indeed play long seasons and not have to cheat money in. There have been folks claiming the opposite that you can not play with seasons mod unless you cheat money or crops in.

With my personal problems nearing the end I hope to restart my 24day series soon.
  17. I'm definitely in for this. I've been hanging out for Blacksheep Modding's new map The Valley The Old Farm which is due to be released soon. It's quite big so I think it will be perfect for a 24 day seasons.

Best time to buy cows, pigs and sheep

For info I have updated my table above.. sorry sort of forgot to continue recording summer values.

Best time to buy cows, pigs and sheep

Its hard to say with out knowing the true code but I have been going off the data file which looks like the below for sheep. Where the transions are like so. 1 = early spring, 2 = mid spring, 3 = late spring, etc. The factor is the cost adjustment from base game price of $4000 for sheep so at some point mid autumn (transition 8) they should be .77 * 4000 = 3080. We will need more data points to establish if it is indeed predictable or if it is indeed a case of any of the days during that season the price point will hit the factor. all other times it will float around that price factor. <animal name="sheep"> <factors> <factor transition="11">0.93</factor> <factor transition="12">0.97</factor> <factor transition="1">1.13</factor> <factor transition="2">1.25</factor> <factor transition="3">1.29</factor> <factor transition="4">1.19</factor> <factor transition="5">0.99</factor> <factor transition="6">0.91</factor> <factor transition="7">0.81</factor> <factor transition="8">0.77</factor> <factor transition="9">0.85</factor> <factor transition="10">0.95</factor> </factors> </animal>

I wonder if the season segment for the lowest price is defined but the actual date can vary within the segment. It will be interesting to see.

Best time to buy cows, pigs and sheep

So I just checked on the 10th day of autumn the price of sheep and pigs. One cause I thought I might have missed when the best price for pigs was and thought sheep was close at hand. I was surprised that sheep where $3079 when our data above said it should be another 6 days before we get to that level. Needless to say any plans for the game day was tabled for the next day as it was time to haul some sheeps back to the farm.

Farmer Klein hit it on the head, and tbh it's something I think most of us came across in first experiencing the Seasons mod....

I will just agree with what @FarmerKleinsaid. Just to add some (alright me) still don't know much after 4 plus years playing Farming sim (2013, 15 and 17)

No problem. we where all new and didnt know much at some point and it is important to remember that. One reason PC-SG is well above other community sites.
